Unterstützung wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten auf dem Gebiete der Vulkanologie. Die Stiftungsurkunde enthält nähere Angaben darüber, wie der Stiftungszweck verwirklicht werden soll. Die Stiftung kann selbst wissenschaftliche Publikationen herausgeben oder sich finanziell oder als Mit-Herausgeberin an der Publikation von Schriften oder Schriftenreihen sowie sich an der Organisation von Ausstellungen vulkanologischen Charakters beteiligen.
